The Textbook of Oncology receives contributions from doctors Hernán Cortés-Funes and Ramon Colomer Bosch, as the editors; doctors Emilio Alba Conejo, Eduardo Díaz-Rubio, Manuel González-Barón, Vicente Guillem Porta and Josep Tabernero Caturla, as joint editors; and doctor José M. Trigo Pérez as the scientific co-ordinator. An invitation to take part in the Treatise was sent to the broadest group of experts in the different oncology specialities: oncology doctors, radiotherapists, haematologists, radiologists and surgeons. A complete work that covers two volumes with a total 2,308 pages, structured into sections and with a co-ordinating editor and a person responsible for each one. The mission of this “Textbook of Oncology” has been to set out the present situation of the most important subjects of the speciality in easy-to-read chapters, so that they might serve as a platform on each aspect at any particular time with the support of the most updated bibliography. The intention has been to organise each subject so that it might serve as an element of general consultation and also a starting point for studying a certain work. Its style and language is based on simple texts with diagrams, tables and figures that make as complete, didactic analysis as possible. The final aim of the co-ordinators and the editor is that the “Textbook of Oncology” should be a reference work for Spanish-speaking oncologists. |
